The real issue here is that the whole idea that Christhood is a state of perfection comes from the mind of anti-Christ. At the personal level it comes from your ego, and it is because the forces of anti-Christ are always seeking to prevent you from reaching your ascension. They know that they can potentially stop you at every level towards the 144th level. They are always trying to get you to a point where you think you do not have to grow, you do not have to transcend, you do not have to move on. Therefore, there is that last fixed point in your mind, that last illusion, as Hilarion said, that you will not look at. If you will not look at it, you cannot give it up, and therefore you are stuck in that illusion indefinitely.

My beloved, there is really not much honor in having reached the 143rd level of consciousness and then stopping there. It is a very, very sad state. Not that we have ever seen it, but if it were to occur, it would be a very sad state. It is, for that matter, almost as sad to have reached the 77th level of consciousness and stop there. What we always want to see for our students is, of course, that you make your ascension, and you do not make your ascension from the 77th level or the 143rd level! You can only make it from the 144th level but even there you have to transcend that last illusion. My beloved, this has been a long discourse. It has perhaps been a shocking discourse.
