It should be obvious, I trust, that as long as you are inside a self, you cannot see the self. If you are wearing yellow glasses and you are not aware of this, you cannot see the glasses. In order to see a self, you must step outside of it. Of course, what we are aiming to take you through is a process where you gradually let go of all the more superficial selves and spirits until you get down to a point where the only self you have left is the primal self. When you have gone through this process, then it is possible for you to make this shift where you can realize that you have a primal self. It is more subtle than the other selves but it is still a self that is created the same way. What you can then do is that you can begin to recognize that this is not the real you. It was a self that was created in response to a very difficult, very traumatic, situation that you encountered on earth.

Again, there is absolutely no blame from our side here. We have been in embodiment; we created this primal self in response to our own birth trauma on this planet. We are only here to demonstrate to you that as we have overcome that primal self, so can you. What one has done, all can do.

How do you, then, overcome it? Well, as we have said before, the key is to recognize that any self you have is created for a specific purpose, with a specific view. Therefore, in essence the self has, we can say, a certain problem. It has a built-in problem and when you are looking from inside the self, it must be resolved somehow. We have talked about how you may have come here with the intent to affect a certain outer change on earth. Then, when you create a certain self based on what you encountered on this earth, this self may project or may see that there is a specific problem here on earth and it absolutely must be solved. As I said, if it is war, then war must be removed from the earth before you have solved the problem.

Of course, this is not the way you can overcome such a self. Even if you solved the problem that the self projects, such as removing all war, you would not automatically overcome the outer self. The trick is to begin to see that you will not overcome the primal self by solving the problem or changing the condition that the primal self was created in reaction to.

You will overcome it only by recognizing that it is a separate self, that it is based on an illusion and that there is no problem to solve. This, of course, is tricky. Yes, there is war on the earth. Yes, the ascended masters want to remove war from the earth as do all of you. There is a real problem, but for you to be free of your primal self, this cannot be done by solving the outer problem. It can only be done by resolving the mechanism in you that makes you think that your life on this planet, your sense of self and your exit from this planet, depends on any condition here.

We could, again to reference the scriptures, look at where I said: “The Prince of this world comes and has nothing in me.” What does this mean? It means that there is no force on earth who has any pull on you that you have to do something, change something, solve something here. There is no force dictating that you have to react a certain way, that you have to feel a certain way.
