You now need to recognize that there is a certain mechanism that comes into play with ascended master students. From the time we have been talking about ascended masters, and especially the path to Christhood, we have been talking to students who were in a higher level of consciousness than the average population. Our students have not been in a coma, they have not been in this inertia where they were unwilling to grow. This does not mean, my beloved, that in order to recognize an outer ascended master teaching, you have to be at a high level of consciousness. You have to be at a higher level of consciousness than the average, but it does not mean you are anywhere close to the fullness of Christhood. Again, students will look at the concept of Christhood through the filter of their present level of consciousness and they will understand what they can understand. Then, they will create images and project those images upon it.

One of the images created by many, many students over the decades is that Christ consciousness is some state of perfection. This, of course, is partly brought about because the Catholic church, as I have explained many times, raised me up to be the only Son of God, to have been perfect from the beginning and therefore be up there on the pedestal beyond the reach of other human beings. Many ascended master students have taken over this concept, clearly created by the fallen beings, and have projected it upon the state of Christhood. They think that Christhood is an either-or thing. Either you do not have Christhood, or you have it—and if you have it, you are perfect.

What is truly non-constructive about this idea is that the image of perfection that is most common on earth is that perfection means something that does not have to change. Why would something that is perfect have to change? This means that perfection is a state of still-stand and that is why I tell you: Perfection seen from this perspective has nothing to do whatsoever with Christhood. Christhood is ongoing self-transcendence, ever-moving self-transcendence. It can never stand still. The Christ-mind never stands still and that is why it cannot be compatible with the current concept of perfection. Now, you can have another concept of perfection that is a dynamic perfection where you are perfect in the sense that you are constantly willing to look at yourself and transcend your state of consciousness. This is how you can, as Paul expressed it, “Be made perfect in Christ.” The important point here is that Christhood never can be, never will be still-stand. There is no absolute state of Christhood.
