Now, I have talked about the fact that there is a stage where you reach the 96th level and you face this very important decision of can you truly get to the point where you recognize: “It’s not about me.” You start working selflessly to serve the whole. Or will you be even more focused on yourself, trying to expand your own growth for whatever desires you have, whether it be to feel that you have done something important or that you are more sophisticated than others or whatever it may be. Certainly, once you have made that decision and understood that Christhood is about overcoming the outer self, then it is more difficult for you to start going backwards. As I have said in several discourses now (in both Korea and Holland), there is that point between the 48th and the 96th level where you have some degree of Christhood, but it is still possible, at each of those levels, to suddenly come to a point where, for a personal reason, you are not now willing to grow, you are not willing to go beyond. There is a fixed point in your consciousness that you are not willing to look at and question and so you stagnate. You may even go backwards.

This also explains the phenomenon you have seen in history where you have certain leaders that have often been called charismatic leaders. Many people look at certain of these leaders and they think: “But that person has something. That person has some Light! There was something in this person’s radiation that seemed genuine to us.” They get taken in by this because they recognized there is something genuine. Then, later it is clearly seen that there came a point where that leader now took a downward turn and led his or her followers into the abyss. Many people have asked, and many more should ask: “How is this possible?”

Well, it is possible because, my beloved, Christhood is ongoingness but there can come a point where you have reached a certain level of Christhood, you have used the attainment you have at that level to precipitate a certain outer situation according to the vision you had, for example, to set yourself up as the leader of a country or spiritual movement. Then, since you set yourself up in that position, you are not willing to grow, you are not willing to move on. There is a fixed point in your consciousness you are not willing to look at. Then, what happens is, of course, that the earth is constantly being pulled upward by the acceleration of the entire universe, the collective consciousness is being raised.

The moment you are standing still, you are faced with this force that pulls on you to change and if you will not change, you have to resist the change. This means that from actually having and expressing a level of Christhood, you now become a closed system.

Then, you lose that Christhood because Christhood is a connection to the whole and the whole is always accelerating. The moment you refuse to accelerate, you must lose the connection to the Christ-mind. You then go into this spiral of seeking to maintain your power, having to become more extreme and more frantic in doing so. It is only a matter of time before this leads to a decline. There will be people who sense this, and they will leave. There will be others who will oppose and various things can happen. You see this many times in spiritual movements. You have seen it even in the recent century in many movements, even in some ascended master movements where there can be that initial growth cycle. Then, somehow, very subtly, the growth slows down and pretty soon inertia has set in. Well, inertia is another word for death.
