Now, why is this so important to understand? Well, because I have now given you the somewhat shocking realization – at least for some of you – that those that you consider to be fallen beings can actually in some cases be in alignment with the mind of Christ. We now need to go to the opposite side of the spectrum and look at the fact that many of the people who have actually reached some level of spiritual awareness, who may even have reached a certain level of Christhood, can actually in some cases be completely out of alignment with the mind of Christ.

If you are willing to be honest, you can look at the fact that many spiritual organizations have precipitated some rather serious atrocities. Again, we can go back to the Catholic church because it is the primary example. It is so obvious that it is hard not to refer to it. Was there a time when the Christian movement was in alignment with the mind of Christ? Well, yes, there was. Was there a time when the Catholic church was in alignment with the mind of Christ? Well, that is a much more subtle question. What we can say is that there certainly was a time when the Catholic church precipitated the massacre of the Cathars, the inquisition, the crusades and so on. Clearly, these actions were not in alignment with the mind of Christ. How is it possible that a movement started by me and in the beginning being in alignment with the mind of Christ, could deteriorate to the point where it precipitated these atrocities that are obviously expressions of the mind of anti-Christ?

How is it possible, for example, that there can be certain gurus who suddenly come to prominence, gain a large gathering of followers, and then suddenly their movement starts declining, various forms of abuses are exposed? An entire movement, that has been healthy and thriving a few years before, can now go into a decline and even completely disappear. Why is it possible that an ascended master organization (after having had the sponsorship of the ascended masters, after having had students who were eagerly walking the path of Christhood), can come to a point where we can no longer sponsor that organization and we must step back and watch as the organization goes into a decline? It becomes more and more closed-minded, more and more rigid, more and more focused on the outer path, more and more focused on rituals, rules and regulations. This goes to the point where the majority of the members of that organization are not actually growing in Christhood. They are comfortable, but they are not growing. They may feel holier than thou and feel they are better than those who are not ascended master students, but they are not growing in Christhood. They have stagnated, they are standing still.

How is it possible that a person who can have some alignment with the mind of Christ and seeing that change is needed, for example, and then, after a while, can go into being willing to use violence to bring about that change? You have seen many leaders throughout history who have seen the need to bring change, who have worked on bringing change, but then at some point a shift happened. Now, it was like they were willing to use force and power to consolidate their position and it all deteriorated into another downward cycle of violence.

The question here is really: “Is it possible that a person can reach a certain level of Christhood and still choose to go backwards, start a downward spiral that leads them far below the level of consciousness they had?” The answer is: “Yes.” Up until you ascend, it is possible that you can start going backwards.
