Many of these have – as has happened in several ascended master organizations – idolized the messenger, thinking that in order to be a messenger you must have reached some state of Christhood and therefore you are “practically perfect in every way.” Well, my beloved, only Mary Poppins is practically perfect in every way. No human being ever has been or ever will be. You need to recognize here that the real problem with idolizing the messenger or the guru, or even idolizing Jesus, is that it maintains this image that Christhood is the state of perfection.

We have seen many, many students who have been sincere about striving for Christhood, but their ego played a trick on them where they thought that once they have reached a certain level of Christhood, now they did not need to look at themselves and their own psychology. They did not need to change, they did not need to listen to anybody below them. In their mind, reaching a certain level of Christhood created a hierarchy where those who had reached a certain level of Christhood were now suddenly better than those who were below them and therefore they did not need to listen to those below them. They did not need to pay attention to them when they pointed out that there was something they needed to look at in themselves.

This is how your progress stops and, all of a sudden, inertia sets in because now you have reached some state in a spiritual organization, or even in your own mind, where you are comfortable and you think you do not need to grow. Many of these students recognized that they were not at the ultimate state of Christhood because only the messenger was. They have created this very subtle belief that: “Oh, the messenger was just in a different category, like Jesus.” They could never reach that but now they had reached a certain level and therefore they certainly were higher than the other students in the organization.

When you have this kind of an earthly hierarchy, then an organization can be brought to a halt by this. This in itself is enough to bring a spiritual organization to a halt, if it is not recognized and addressed. There can be this attitude where those who are at lower levels, well, they feel there is no room to express their Christhood. They have two choices: Either they pause their growth towards Christhood so it does not disturb those above them and gets them into trouble, or they leave and they express their Christhood elsewhere. If those who are willing to express their Christhood leave, well, an organization cannot continue to grow. It is very simple and this is what has happened to several organizations that were sponsored by the ascended masters. I do not need to name names because those of you who know an ascended master organization, can clearly see the pattern if you are willing.
