You cannot understand Jesus without knowing that he saw himself only as a mouthpiece for Spirit, for the ascended masters. It is a mockery when the fallen beings have made Jesus into the only Son of God who has all power to do anything he wants. Jesus himself was very direct and very stern in refuting any and all attempts to idolize him.

I still remember one situation. Jesus often had sessions where people could ask him questions. Often, he would get the answers as a form of dictation from the ascended masters, but other times he answered them from his own Being. Well, during such a session, a man approached Jesus and he clearly had this attitude that Jesus was someone special. I could immediately sense how Jesus reacted to the man’s servile attitude, and then the man spoke: “Good master . . .”

He didn’t get any further before Jesus interrupted him: “Why are you calling me good? There is none good but God.” This was said with such force that the man literally fell backwards and was shaking from the power of the Spirit flowing through Jesus. The man was so shaken by this that he did some soul-searching and eventually became one of Jesus’ disciples.

Of course, you also have the fragments from the scriptures where Jesus said that he could of his own self do nothing and that it was the father (meaning the ascended masters and his I AM Presence) who was doing the works through him. Anyway, my point here was that Jesus never saw himself as the originator of the power flowing through him. He knew it was the power of Spirit and that he could not own or control it.

Back to my starting point, which was that the power of Spirit was highly disturbing to many people. As soon as Jesus started speaking, many people would be unable to sit still. Many would latch on to one thing he said that went beyond or contradicted what they already believed, and they would use this as an excuse for rejecting Jesus and walking away from him. The reality was that the power of Spirit was so disturbing that people subconsciously knew that if they stayed in Jesus’ Presence, they would have to let go of their existing beliefs. Since they were not willing to do that, they had to walk away from him, and the outer claim that he was giving a false teaching was just an excuse. This was a pattern often seen in the scribes and Pharisees and those who followed them. Basically, the higher people were up in the Jewish hierarchy, the more likely they were to find an excuse for rejecting Jesus.

Yet many among the people also rejected him, and the reason was simple. In the religions created by the fallen beings, people are set free from taking responsibility for themselves. They are told that if only they follow the outer rules, they are guaranteed to be saved after this lifetime. Since a fallen religion rarely (except by accident) allows the Living Word of the Spirit, people have nothing to challenge the official claim. The mechanism is simple. The priests have no power of Spirit so it is easy for people to believe that they themselves can be saved by being in the same state of consciousness as the priests. After all, the people have never experienced the power of the Spirit that would challenge the reign of the priests.

This illusion is challenged when people meet a person who is the open door for the power of Spirit. People cannot deny the experience that this person has something they themselves do not have. They subconsciously know that this person has attained this by reaching a higher state of consciousness. This threatens to awaken the inner memory (that all people have encoded in their identity bodies) that we all have to attain a higher state of consciousness in order to be saved. We all have an inner knowing that we cannot enter heaven with the duality consciousness, we cannot enter heaven while still being selfish and self-centered.

This experience can be very disturbing to people, depending on how attached they are to remaining in the unaware state of mind and rejecting responsibility. The encounter with Spirit threatens to awaken them so they are faced with the necessity to take responsibility for themselves and change their comfortable lifestyles. If they are not willing to do that, they have to find a way to avoid being awakened, and the most common method is to find fault with the person who has the flow of the Spirit and use some outer thing to reject it. Many people did this with Jesus, using anything from his birthplace (“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”) to his personal appearance or his way of talking. However, the primary means was to take some of his words out of context, compare them to official scriptures or interpretations and then reject him as a false teacher.

The fallen beings are very good at appealing to loyalty. Their reasoning is so simple. In this case it was that since the Jewish religion was obviously true, if Jesus was a genuine teacher or even the Messiah, he would not say anything to contradict Jewish teaching. Incidentally, the majority of Christians today would reject the Living Word of Jesus if it contradicted official doctrines (as many Christians will no doubt use the same reasoning to reject this book).

The problem here is, of course, that if the official doctrines (as is always the case) are created by the fallen beings, then Spirit can set people free only by saying something that contradicts the doctrines. So if people use this as an excuse for rejecting what can set them free from the fallen beings, then they must remain as the blind followers of the fallen beings for one or several lifetimes.

Anyway, my point being that many people rejected the teachings of Jesus and especially the disturbing flow of the Spirit. This is part of the explanation why the tradition of the Living Word could not be maintained. As an official Christianity started to emerge, many people preferred this more comfortable religion to the much more difficult and challenging path of discipleship under Jesus. Another part of the explanation is, of course, the influence of the fallen beings, as I will talk more about later.
