As I have mentioned before, Jesus could easily have had people write down what he preached. Yet Jesus expressly forbade his disciples from writing down anything he said or did. Why? There are two main reasons.

One is that he knew that once something was written down, it would become fixated in time. Every official religion claims to have a scripture with some ultimate authority. This scripture was given sometime in the past and it cannot be renewed. It must therefore be interpreted by the class of priests who are now the ones who have been given the authority of the original founder although they do not have the ability to receive a teaching from beyond the material world. In many cases, a religion has been founded by a person who had contact with the ascended masters and who therefore received a genuine revelation. Yet those who control the religion later have no such ability and thus make a virtue out of interpreting while claiming they have the authority to do this.

Jesus did not want his movement to repeat this pattern and that is why he did not want anything written down. He wanted to create a movement that had a clear tradition of continually receiving revelation from the ascended masters through the flow of the Spirit. He did not want his disciples to write down what Spirit said through him because he was training his disciples to themselves be messengers for receiving direct revelation from Spirit. Jesus wanted to create a movement with a constant stream of revelation directly from him as an ascended master so that the fallen beings could not disinterpret the revelation given in the past. This would also ensure a movement that could raise itself as times changed, rather than becoming stuck in trying to fit everything into the scriptures of the past. Just look at how much the collective consciousness has changed in 2000 years and then see how ridiculous it is that official Christianity is trying to fit modern life into an interpretation of scriptures that are 2000 years old (and that were not pure to begin with). No wonder more and more people are giving up on Christianity.

The second reason Jesus did not want anything written down was that he was very determined to avoid creating a movement focused on him. The last thing Jesus wanted was to be seen as an exception. He wanted to be seen as an example. He wanted people to see him as a person who had followed the universal path to Christhood, thereby demonstrating the path that is open to all. As I said, the motto of the ascended masters is: “What one has done, all can do.” Thus, Jesus felt that what he did or said was unimportant. It was far more important that many other people became able to speak the Living Word of Spirit so that the movement would remain focused on bringing forth new revelation, constantly seeking to raise up those who had sufficient Christhood to be messengers of the ascended masters. The last thing Jesus wanted was that he was turned into an idol and seen as the only one who could do what he did. You might say: “But isn’t that exactly how official Christianity has portrayed Jesus since the Nicene Creed portrayed him as: ‘one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten of the Father [the only-begotten; that is, of the essence of the Father, God of God,] Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father?’” And you are right, of course. I did mention, did I not, that official Christianity has from its inception been a fallen religion?
